The Very Best of Chris Rea is the third compilation album by British singer-songwriter Chris Rea, which was released in 2001. The last track "Saudade" was originally written and recorded in 1994 as a tribute to the Formula 1 racing driver Ayrton Senna, who died in an accident in Imola on May 1st of the same year. The word "Saudade" in Portuguese roughly means the feeling, emotion and euphoria of a particular moment. It reached number 69 in the British album charts and was awarded gold by the BPI in 2004.
