Warrior – Boudica & Live At Brofest

-Authentic and thrilling comeback from a NWOBHM legend
from Newcastle

-Produced by Dave Curle, known for the last five SATAN
albums

-Very good reviews across the board upon initial release in
2020

-New cardboard slipcase with alternative cover artwork

Not only had the reunited band Warrior picked up speed at the beginning of 2020, but after a rather quiet phase, so had the Golden Core label. But then came Corona and with it the first lockdowns. No one knew exactly how things would continue... and no one had focused on acquiring new music. As a result, many releases suffered during the first weeks of coronavirus and more or less disappeared. „Boudica“ by the British band Warrior is now the first product with a new slipcase, which is getting a second chance due to its quality.

No matter what genre traditional bands of the (early) eighties belonged to, most of these groups are no longer able to capture the spirit and attitude of the old days. Things are different for NWOBHM veterans WARRIOR, because ‘Boudica’ impresses with a freshness and authenticity that one certainly could not have expected.

Founded in 1979, WARRIOR remains the NWOBHM band it has been known as since its first single on Neat Records (Dead When It Comes To Love, 1982). Guitarist Dave Dawson has been a constant throughout the years, but a prodigal son returned in 2014: drummer Sean Taylor (Satan, Pariah), who was already part of the line-up at the time of the EP ‘For Europe Only’ (1983). The new addition on vocals, Dave Lunn, not only lifts „Boudica“ to higher spheres, but also provides NWOBHM goose bumps with his voice and style.

The album was recorded by Dave Curle at First Avenue Studio (Newcastle), who also gave Satan‘s current albums a natural, unadulterated sound. None other than John Gallagher from Raven was recruited as a guest, playing bass on three songs.

The retro box is finally opened with the four bonus tracks!

These are professional 24-track recordings of WARRIOR at Brofest 2014 (Newcastle), remixed by Neudi in 2019. In addition to the entire Neat Records single, you‘ll also find the song ‘Suicide’ from the EP ‘For Europe Only’ in energetic live versions.
