Juho Valjakka – Liminal Spaces

The music of this album was written during some turbulent years spent in search of a sense of truth, both in art and in life in general. The seven pieces – five original compositions and two arrangements of wonderful works by Billy Strayhorn – reflect the joys and struggles of those times. Liminal Spaces is both a destination and a new beginning. It is a fixed point on my path as an artist that was forged by the experiences that came before it and contains the seeds of many things to come.

I have been lucky to have had many amazing teachers, colleagues and friends by my side along the way. Thank you Timo and Robi for making everything come together. Thank you Oskari and Anssi for your beautiful musicianship and all the support.
