Kalmah – Kalmah 

The return of one of Finland’s finest death metal bands, Kalmah! Kalmah is an old school melodic death
metal band from Pudasjärvi, norther Finland, formed in 1998. In 2000 they signed with Spinefarm Records
and released their legendary debut album ’Svamplord’ (2000) with great success. Since then, the band have
released seven more albums and played shows and gained a very dedicated fanbase around the world.
After their previous album ’Palo’ (2018), the band decided to take a breather and let the next album come
when it may. Now, the ninth album ’Kalmah’ (2023) is set to release on 26th of May via the independent
Finnish rock and metal label Ranka Kustannus. The album stays true to Kalmah’s distinctive style of old
school death metal with melodic twists while bringing the sound and the band to the 2020s.

The first single from the album ’Haunted by Guilt’ is released on 24th February 2023, and the second ’Taken
before Given’ will be out exactly one month after, 24th March 2023. The dedicated Kalmah fans have been
eagerly waiting for new music from the band and surely the singles and the album will be greeted with true
excitement among the (death)metal heads.
