Artikelbeschreibung

Vangelis – 1492: Conquest of Paradise (Music From The Original Soundtrack)

Vangelis' music score to the 1992 film 1492: Conquest of Paradise is to be reissued on vinyl for the first time since its original release. The yellow flame vinyl will be available as a 2LP alongside the newly reissued CD that features two bonus tracks Line Open and Landscape. Out on 29th August.

Director Ridley Scott, who created a compelling vision of the future in ‘Blade Runner’ and a controversial glimpse of the present in ‘Thelma & Louise’, took a journey into the distant past with the film ‘1492’ which reveals the provocative story of one of the most mysterious figures in history, Christopher Colombus. It also tells one of the greatest adventure stories of the last 500 years.

The 1492: Conquest of Paradise album won Vangelis an Echo Award for International Artist of the Year and an RTL Golden Lion Award for the Best Title Theme for a TV Film or Series in 1996. The album had also been nominated for Best Original Score - Motion Picture at the 50th Golden Globe Awards in 1993.
