Arabesque – Midnight Dancer: The Greatest Hits

Arabesque – Midnight Dancer: The Greatest Hits

The Arabesque compilation is a concentrated dose of disco energy from the 70s–80s: it features bright, rhythmic tracks that perfectly capture the atmosphere of dance parties from that era. The selection includes the band’s signature hits — from the upbeat Hello Mr. Monkey and the fiery Friday Night to the iconic Midnight Dancer. The sound clearly showcases Arabesque’s signature style: a bouncy disco beat, catchy melodies, airy vocal parts, and characteristic arrangements with synthesizers and strings. At the same time, the album is not monotonous: the track list includes вкрапления of other styles — for example, reggae in Born To Reggae, and more dramatic numbers like Hell Driver. The four sides of the record provide a dense stream of hits without pauses: from light and playful compositions (Peppermint Jack, Jingle Jangle Joe) to more intense and emotional ones (Heart On Fire, The Hero Of My Life). This collection is a great way to immerse yourself in the aesthetics of European disco and understand why Arabesque’s music is still a favorite at retro parties.
