Tilanteen herrat on pohjoisen soulin mestarin Niko Ahvosen ensimmäinen albumi yli kuuteen vuoteen. Hän nousi suuren yleisön tietoisuuteen Onnen ongintaa -hitillään ja hienoilla keikoillaan mm. Cortina Jets -yhtyeen kanssa jo 1990-luvun loppupuolella. 2000-luvulla radiossa ovat soineet mm. Penelope, Aavekaupunki ja edellisen albumin nimikappale Pohjoinen soul.
