Product description

Freddie King – Texas Cannonball

A true masterpiece, full of dashing solos and containing some of Freddie King's finest vocals since his heyday in the late '50s and early '60s. Released by Shelter Records in 1972, Texas Cannonball is similar to his first Shelter outing (Getting Ready), but with more of a rock feel. It covers tunes by Jimmy Rogers, Howlin' Wolf, and Elmore James, tackles compositions by Leon Russell and, more unexpectedly, Bill Withers, Isaac Hayes-David Porter, and John Fogerty (whose "Lodi" is reworked into "Lowdown in Lodi"). King's own pen remained virtually in retirement, as he wrote only one of the album's tracks. In 2007, the Houston Chronicle listed Texas Cannonball among the 75 essential Texas blues albums.

Tracklist:
1. Lowdown In Lodi (Ft. John Fogerty)
2. Reconsider Baby (Ft. Lowell Fulson)
3. Big Legged Woman (Ft. L. Russell-C. Blackwell)
4. Me and My Guitar (Ft. L. Russell-C. Blackwell)
5. I'd Rather Be Blind (Ft. Leon Russell)
6. Can't Trust Your Neighbor (Ft. I. Hayes-D. Porter)
7. You Was Wrong (Ft. Freddie King)
8. How Many More Years (Ft. Chester Burnett)
9. Ain't No Sunshine (Ft. Bill Withers)
10. The Sky is Crying (Ft. E. James-M. Robinson-C. Lewis)
