Product description

The 1975 – The 1975

A name, unforgettable, discovered at the end of a long-forgotten suicide note, scrawled on the back of a book - The 1975

Critics are amazed, amused and delighted by their versatility, from brooding art rock, crunchy electronica, dancefloor R&B, helium hip-hop, shimmering ballads to 80s glossy pop. Somewhere between Placebo and Joy Division, Alt-J and Everything Everything, The 1975 are carving out their own niche in British electro-rock. Their first single Chocolate reflects reflects exactly this catchy versatility and shows the facets that make up The 1975.

Whatever The 1975 are - they flicker and fascinate. Not least because of this, producer Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys, Foals, The Kooks) took on the band to produce their debut album at the legendary Motor Museum Studios in Liverpool. "It's everything I know. Every single song on the album, was, at one time, the most important thing in my life. I've been working towards it my whole adult life. It's literally everything I am." said Matthew Healey, the band's singer and songwriter.

It's a record that blends every ingredient of the Manchester sound into a fresh sound and re-establishes electronic art rock in youth culture.
