Product description

Marcos Valle – Samba '68

Although the Brazilian singer, songwriter, pianist and guitarist Marcos Valle is often attributed to the second generation of bossa nova, he has also made a name for himself as one of the best modern samba composers. Valle achieved international fame in 1968 with his only Verve album "Samba '68", on which he presented eleven of his lively songs, including of course his best-known piece "Samba de Verão" aka "So Nice (Summer Samba)". The album was recorded with a Brazilian rhythm section and American studio musicians. The breezy, pop arrangements were written by keyboardist Eumir Deodato, also from Brazil.

Verve Vault Series: cut and mastered from the original analog tapes by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound and pressed on 180-gram vinyl by Optimal. Single sleeve with iconic original artwork.
