The Runaways – And now… The Runaways
Released in 1978, this final studio album by The Runaways immortalizes one of the most daring and influential groups in the history of female rock.
With Joan Jett , Lita Ford , Sandy West , and Vicki Blue , the band asserts a tougher and more mature identity, gradually moving away from its glam-rock roots to explore territories closer to hard rock and nascent punk.
Recorded amidst growing internal tensions, the album stands as the final studio recording of a band soon to break up, while also foreshadowing the future careers of Joan Jett and Lita Ford .
The track "Black Leather," written by Steve Jones and Paul Cook of the Sex Pistols, perfectly illustrates this sonic evolution.
This Deluxe edition features the original artwork and includes a side obi strip, a printed inner sleeve, and a stunning black polycarbonate CD .
An essential piece of rock history.
