Cut from the original master tapes, pressed at Optimal using film from the USA. Loving, exact reproduction of the cover of the original LP edition including the danced band logo as well as the band name and album title.
Certainly the essence of the band from their most successful period, the seventies. The years before "Hotel California" were probably the Eagles' best years (although, thanks to Joe Walsh, there were also some future great moments). Their blend of country, folk and rock is legendary and they almost single-handedly set the bar for the "Southern California sound".
As the wonderful harmonies in "Best Of My Love" show, there were still enough country influences to blur the lines between the two genres.
The hits "Take It Easy" and "Lyin Eyes" could also easily have come from the new Nashville school. Finally, the guitar twang in the intro to "Already Gone" and the solo guitars in "Witchy Woman" and "One Of These Nights" also signal a certain proximity to the country guitar greats of the time.
Greatest Hits 1971-1975 impressively documents the magical moments of the collaboration between Collaboration between Glen Frey and Don Henley and the breadth of the Eagles' influence on the many who would follow in their footsteps.
