It is the first album after the commercial breakthrough that Barry experienced with his second album, Barry Manilow II. Tryin' To Get The Feeling has achieved double Platinum certification in the United States with over 2 million records sold and peaked at #5 on the US Billboard 200 chart. It features the singles "I Write The Songs" and "Tryin' To Get The Feeling Again", and the popular tracks "Bandstand Boogie" and "Beautiful Music" amongst others.

Tryin' To Get The Feeling is being reissued for the first time in over 40 years and is available as a limited edition of 2000 individually numbered copies on red coloured vinyl, including an insert with lyrics.
