Billie Holiday – All Or Nothing At All

Although Billie Holiday's association with tenor saxophonist Ben Webster is not her long-standing relationship - both musically and personally - with the great with the great Lester Young, she recorded with Webster on many occasions early in her career recorded with Webster on many occasions.

Webster and Holidays' late collaborations were limited to the 1956-57 recordings for Norman Granz, also with the great Harry "Sweets" Edison on trumpet, some of which were released on the album "All or Nothing".

"All Or Nothing At All" - what a fitting title! Because for Billie Holiday, whose career was in decline, it really was all or nothing in a way. It was the last album that Norman Granz released by the singer on his Verve label. The recordings were made in August 1956 and January 1957 during the same sessions as the Holiday classics "Body And Soul" and "Songs For Distingué Lovers" and, according to today's critics, even surpass them.
