When talking about the true greats of folk metal, there's no getting around Ensiferum, who once again confirm with Two Paths that they rightly occupy the genre throne. Two Paths takes the Finns' six albums to date one step further and is also their most organic, expansive work to date, once again rising above the gray masses. As the band composes with tremendous care and takes a lot of time to do so, they always maintain an enviably high standard of quality. The album is also overflowing with energy, making it practically impossible to sit still while listening to the tracks.

"When we made 'One Man Army' (2015), we wanted it to sound like a live album, not so studio-like. With 'Two Paths' we reach the next level of analog recordings, because we reduced the tracks and recorded without a click track, which gave us a completely different groove when you compare the result to most contemporary metal productions," says bassist/vocalist Sami Hinkka.
