The album "Boss Guitar", originally released in 1963, is the eighth album by the influential jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery. It was released on the legendary Riverside label and contains a selection of standards as well as Montgomery originals featuring Melvine Rhyne (organ) and Jimmy Cobb (drums).
This reissue of the album is released as part of the Original Jazz Classics Series on 180-gram vinyl, pressed by RTI, with full analog mastering from the original tapes at Cohearent Audio and a Stoughton tip-on cover.
Original Jazz Classics was launched in 1982 under Fantasy Records and revived in 2023 with a focus on audiophile reissues of landmark jazz recordings. With over 850 reissued titles to date from the groundbreaking catalogs of Prestige, Riverside, Galaxy, Contemporary, Jazzland, Milestone and others, OJC remains a trusted source for jazz discovery and rediscovery.
