If Not Now, When? is the comeback album by Incubus after a 5-year hiatus. Just like their success albums A Crow Left Of The Murder... and Light Grenades, Brendan O'Brien (Audioslave, Korn) produced the album.
Incubus' seventh album is recognized by less use of guitars compared to their earlier works. Guitarist Michael EInzinger noted that his contributions to the album were influenced by his musical studies during the band's hiatus, and that the musical direction was influenced by the notion of "simplicity". A "less is more" approach, if you will. Another shift in the band's sound was by the expansion of Chis Kilmore's role from turntablist to keyboardist, adding a more organic feel to the band's sound.
Thematically, the album's lyrics by singer Brendon Boyd revolve around romance, a theme that was relevant and close to his heart at the time.
If Not Now, When? is available on heavy black vinyl.
