The Corrs – White Light

White vinyl

The surprise is more than successful: "White Light" is the name of The Corrs' first album after a ten-year break.

Due to their own family commitments, the siblings decided to take a break in 2005 after five studio albums, all of which reached number one in the charts in their home country of Ireland. Apart from Andrea and Sharon Corr's solo projects, this break lasted almost a whole decade.

in 2015, however, there was good news for all fans of The Corrs: album number six, "White Light", was released. The band went into the studio at the beginning of 2015, albeit in secret at first, to find out whether the musical chemistry was still right.

The answer to this question is called "White Light" and comprises a total of twelve new songs by the family band. One of them is the single "Bring On The Night", released in October 2015 - a cheerful, catchy pop song that features typical Celtic sounds in some places. But that's what The Corrs have always been known for.

White Light" is also a mixture of pop, rock and traditional Irish music. Electronic elements can also be heard here and there. All the songs on the new album were written by the band, with the exception of "Kiss Of Life" and "Unconditional". American producer John Shanks and singers Natasha Bedingfield and Ruth-Anne Cunningham helped with the songwriting.

It is already one of the comebacks of 2016. With their new album, The Corrs pick up where they left off around ten years ago. "White Light" is first-class pop music with just the right amount of folk.

"White Light" is the sixth studio album by Irish sibling band The Corrs. The album contains 12 songs that exquisitely blend the endearing, classic Corrs sound with modern pop and traditional Irish folk music. Highlights include the gently political "Ellis Island", a song that has already been praised by Bono, and the atmospheric "Gerry's Reel", an instrumental piece dedicated to their late father Gerry Corr.
