50 years later..

Roger Waters has surprisingly announced his new album "The Dark Side Of The Moon Redux" for fall 2023. This continues the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Pink Floyd classic, which started in March with the "Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set" and the "Live At Wembley 1974" release.

Roger Waters' reinterpretation of the album of the century sticks to the familiar order of the ten songs, but sounds completely different to the original. Especially if you take the first single "Money" as a benchmark. Over the quiet instrumentation, Waters speaks the lyrics almost in a whisper. The 79-year-old replaces the guitar solo - in Pink Floyd as well as the song's vocals by David Gilmour - with the recitation of a poem. An interesting approach that is sometimes reminiscent of the late Leonard Cohen.

Roger Waters recorded the album with his live band and shared the production with their guitarist Gus Seyffert.

The idea for "The Dark Side Of The Moon Redux" came to Roger Waters while he was working on his last EP. "When we were recording the stripped-down songs for the 'Lockdown Sessions', the 50th anniversary of the release of 'The Dark Side Of The Moon' was coming up," says the musician. "It occurred to me that 'The Dark Side Of The Moon' might be a suitable candidate for a similar reworking, partly as a tribute to the original, but also to re-address the political and emotional message of the album as a whole."

According to Roger Waters, however, "The Dark Side Of The Moon Redux" is by no means a replacement or even an improvement on the well-known work. "I love the original recordings and what Nick, Rick and Dave played on them. The re-recording is more reflective, I think, and more indicative of the concept of the album. It's a reinterpretation."

Roger Waters will release a super deluxe box set of "The Dark Side Of The Moon Redux", featuring special live versions of the iconic songs from Roger's performances at the London Palladium on October 8 and 9, 2023.

- A 40-page commemorative book with photographs of the making of the album, the rehearsals and Roger Waters "Redux Live" at the London Palladium.
- Hand numbered certificate of authenticity. Limited edition of 3000 copies
