As concert activity came to a sudden halt due to the pandemic, Cradle Of Filth were recently in the studio recording their 13th studio album under lockdown conditions - and the inescapable isolation, with its stifling atmosphere, seemed to be the best condition for the creation of "Existence Is Futile", a manifesto of existentialism

The album is easily one of the most powerful and dramatic records in Cradle Of Filth's history. The band's frenzied live energy also bubbled up in the studio, driving each member to new heights. Combined with the labyrinthine arrangements and gripping bombast, "Existence Is Futile" is the band's most vibrant studio album to date

Hardcore fans will be pleased to hear that horror icon Doug "Pinhead" Bradley is back on the album and his spoken word passages fuel not only the epic "Suffer Our Dominium" but also a bonus track. "So if we're all going to perish in the fire of our own stupidity anyway, we might as well have a suitably deranged and destructive soundtrack to it," says Dani Filth
