The album contains three hit singles: "Warning", "Waiting" and "Minority", a track that remains a live favorite. The album has been called one of the most acclaimed in the band's catalog, with critics praising the band's adventurous musical direction and Billie Joe Armstrong's strong songwriting.

The limited edition 25th anniversary super deluxe box sets (vinyl and CD) contain 47 songs on either 5 LPs or 4 CDs. They contain a remaster of the original album as well as lots of bonus material, including 8 unreleased demos, 2 unreleased mixes on the B-sides and the rarities CD as well as an unreleased live concert with 21 tracks from Tokyo in 2001.
