With their 1992 album "Pile Of Skulls", Running Wild returned to the pirate theme that had long since become their trademark. However, it also came with an overall concept on the themes of corruption and abuse of power throughout history.

Songs based on Robert Louise Stevenson's "Treasure Island" can be found alongside tracks such as "Jennings Revenge" about the exploits of the notorious pirate Henry Jennings.

With 350,000 copies sold worldwide, "Pile Of Skulls" proved to be another success for Running Wild.
