He's an old hand in the business by now, but he's nowhere near as old as the cover of his new album: The Weeknd.

After his mega successes in recent years: the most successful radio single of 2021 with "Save Your Tears" (platinum), and the most successful song of 2020 with "Blinding Lights" (triple platinum), the Canadian R'n'B singer and songwriter begins a new chapter in 2022 and releases his fifth longplayer "Dawn FM", the follow-up to "After Hours" from 2020, which reached number one in the charts in several countries, including Canada, the USA and the UK.

He picks up where he left off with "Dawn FM". A total of 16 tracks await on the record, which features Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, The Weeknd's real name, as well as a few prominent colleagues, including rappers Tyler The Creator and Lil Wayne, producer, composer and jazz legend Quincy Jones, experimental and electronic musician, composer and producer Daniel Lopatin aka Oneohtrix Point Never and actor and comedian Jim Carrey. The latter already revealed himself to be a big fan of the album when he tweeted in January: "Listened to 'Dawn FM' last night with my good friend Abel @theweeknd. It was profound and elegant and it had me dancing around the room. I'm excited to play a part in his symphony."

A feeling that hits you as soon as you hear the first single: "Take My Breath" was released on August 6, 2021 and went straight into the top 20 of the German charts. It reached number six in the USA and number three in Canada.
