Description du produit

Weezer – SZNZ: Summer

"SZNZ: Summer", the second installment of Weezer's four-EP song cycle, continues the narrative begun on "SZNZ: Spring", bringing to life pagan myths, Shakespeare, Catholic rituals, Vivaldi's Four Seasons and more. It's an angry, indignant EP that replaces the light-hearted tone of "SZNZ: Spring".

"SZNZ: Summer" is the classic alt-rock sound of Weezer from the '90s filtered through 21st century production that makes every note - and every emotion - bigger and bolder. As on "Spring", the lyrics seamlessly juxtapose old and modern elements as only frontman Rivers Cuomo can.

"Lawn Chair" calls on archangels to torture people, followed by "Records," perhaps the only song you'll hear in 2022, which references pop stars in the chorus.
The songs deal with irreverent proclamations ("What if I was to say 'hell no, I'm not your soldier boy'"), standing up for yourself, revenge fantasies ("Feed 'em to the lions / Taste your own medicine") and more.

The EP as a whole brings together some of the most notable melodic threads from the band's acclaimed output over the past eight years: The incredibly expansive "Thank You and Good Night" recalls parts of the "Futurescope" trilogy from "Everything Will Be Alright In The End"; "What's The Good Of Being Good" has a classic vocal line that would have been right at home on "Weezer (The White Album)".
