Craft Recordings presents "Miles '55: The Prestige Recordings," an exclusive collection highlighting a pivotal year in Miles Davis' career. in 1955, Davis entered Rudy Van Gelder's legendary home studio in Hackensack, New Jersey, and recorded three sessions that marked the beginning of his first great quintet and the dawn of a new era in jazz.
These 16 tracks have been carefully remastered from the original analog tapes by Grammy Award-winning engineer Paul Blakemore. The double CD includes a booklet with newly written liner notes by music historian Ashley Kahn and session notes by Dan Morgenstern, offering deep insights into these groundbreaking recordings.
The LPs are pressed on 180-gram vinyl with lacquer cuts by Kevin Gray.
