As the frontwoman of Rufus, Chaka Khan had set the world on fire and stormed the charts with hits such as "Tell Me Something Good" and "You Got The Love", winning several Grammys in the process.
She used this collection to launch her solo career in 1978, most notably with the hit "I'm Every Woman", which went platinum in the US and earned her another Grammy® nomination for Best R&B Vocal Performance. She will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November 2023, at the end of a year in which she celebrates her 50th anniversary. In 2024, we will launch a campaign to re-release her solo records, some physical, some digital-only, starting with the self-titled Chaka, which will include a new remix of "I'm Every Woman" by DJ Rashida featuring Sheila E., liner notes by Emmy-winning journalist Kelley Carter and bonus tracks from the original sessions.
