Talk Talk – It's My Life (40th Anniversary) 

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the iconic Talk Talk album "It's My Life", it was cut by Matt Colton at Metropolis Studios at Half-Speed, overseen by Talk Talk drummer Lee Harris and Charlie Hollis, son of Mark Hollis, giving the album greater depth.

"It's My Life" was originally released in February 1984 and is the band's second album. It followed the 1982 debut album "The Party's Over", which was initially moderately successful in the UK, reaching number 21 in the UK charts and was also successful worldwide.

By the time they wrote and recorded "It's My Life", the band had shrunk from four to three members and Simon Brenner left the band. The album initially enjoyed considerable international success. Such A Shame", the album's first single, was a Top 10 hit across Europe and the album's title track reached the Top 40 worldwide, including in the USA.

Interestingly, the album and singles from that album were largely ignored in the UK at the time, but their legacy and relevance as a band has blossomed since and they can count Radiohead, Blur, Elbow and St. Vincent among their fans. What initially didn't catch on in the UK, the rest of the world did, and in time this trickled down to the UK where they were eventually accepted, perhaps thanks in part to covers by Eurodance groups Gigabyte and Scanner, but most notably by the Gwen Stafani-led No Doubt, who had a huge worldwide hit in 2003 with their cover of 'It's My Life'.
