This double album focuses on the Beverley's Records catalogue and includes some of the finest and most popular Jamaican recordings from a fascinating period during which rock steady became established as the island’s national sound. The 28 tracks here provide ample evidence of the superior quality of Beverley’s output from this time and why, by the summer of 1967, Beverley’s Records vied with the likes of Studio One and Treasure Isle as Kingston’s leading record company.
