George Harrison – Electronic Sound

As a direct result of the Beatles' great interest in experimental music and other avant-garde art forms, Apple Records founded the short-lived subsidiary label Zapple in February 1969. It was intended to provide a forum for unbridled sound experiments or, as it was called at the time, for "even wackier sounds".

George's "Electronic Sound" and John Lennon and Yoko Ono's "Unfinished Music No. 2: Life With the Lions", both released in May 1969, were Zapple's only releases before the label closed. The cover of "Electronic Sound", painted by George, shows his Moog IIIp (which was later used by the Beatles on four tracks of their album "Abbey Road") with the four modules from which the sound was synthesized. Each side of the "Electronic Sound" LP contained an experimental, longer work.
