On the one hand, Sonny Landreth has long wanted to offer his fans a purely acoustic album. On the other hand, the US blues musician and slide guitar virtuoso also wanted to capture the sound of his electric trio.

Sonny Landreth's unique guitar style has made him a legend. He combines slide guitar with fretted notes; this fingerpicking technique helps him create a complex, multi-layered sound on stage. Over time, Landreth has evolved his vision and musical expression, becoming more original and diverse, moving from blues, zydeco, folk, country and jazz to more cross-genre musical excursions. The album "Recorded Live in Lafayette" is a perfect example of Landreth's talents and abilities; disc one features a full acoustic set and disc two a full electric guitar set.

The slender Mississippi native, who grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana, looks back on a decades-long successful career that began with his debut solo album "Blues Attack" in 1981. Although this album boosted his reputation as an emerging force in roots music, Landreth pursued a parallel career as a celebrated sideman and session musician. Over the years, he has performed and recorded albums with artists such as John Hiatt and British blues pioneer John Mayall and toured as a member of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band.
