Lee "Scratch" Perry – Wonderman Years Vol. 1

Before becoming a legendary figure in dub, Lee 'Scratch' Perry was already transforming Jamaica into a sonic laboratory.
This exceptional collection brings together twenty-three tracks recorded at the heart of the golden age of roots reggae and the early days of dub experimentation. Junior Byles , Big Youth , Dennis Alcapone, Augustus Pablo , and the Upsetters all appear in a whirlwind of versions, toasts, hypnotic grooves, and militant rhythms.
Tracks like "Beat Down Babylon ," "Place Called Africa," and " Give Me Power" testify to the creative audacity of a producer who constantly pushed the boundaries of the genre.

Long absent from the vinyl format, this essential collection is now restored to its full power in a prestigious double LP edition, reproducing the famous Wonderman cover, enhanced with an OBJ, illustrated inner sleeves containing exclusive text, and two vinyl records in the comic-book colors INFINITE RUBY and CELESTIAL BLUE .
A fascinating dive into the teeming universe of an absolute visionary genius.
