Joe's previous album "You And Me" received phenomenal reviews around the world and catapulted him to the top of the blues/rock/guitar scene. His live performances are simply spectacular and electrifying. The Paradiso in Amsterdam and Shepherd's Bush in London were sold out when he played there.
Now Joe presents his new album "Sloe Gin", which was once again produced by Kevin Shirley.
"On my seventh solo album I wanted to experiment with acoustic means, which I first discovered on Rod Stewart's first album. I think the heavy blues fit very well with the acoustic mix. Once again, Kevin Shirley did a wonderful job of realizing my ideas and putting them together in a way I never would have. He is a true master. I based the order of the songs on the A and B sides of records. I have the feeling that iPods make listening to a complete album a waste of time. With 'Sloe Gin' I wanted to bring that experience back. So, sit back and enjoy this album out loud!!!!" (Joe Bonamassa)
"Slow Gin" was originally intended to be an acoustic album, but once in the studio, it became more electric and a direct follow-up to "You and Me". The album contains 11 songs full of beauty and power. It is much bluesier than "You and Me" and shows a different side of Joe. Great songs, a great voice and of course smokin' guitars!
"Bonamassa's presence on stage is modest, but the man is still one of the best guitarists I've ever seen. He had the crowd in the palm of his hand as he took his guitar from wailing to screaming and delivered a wonderful voice to boot. They have redefined the meaning of a power trio and Bonamassa makes you think he's playing two guitars at once!" (David Blue)
