After more than three long years of waiting, the masked men from Des Moines, Iowa are finally back in August 2008 with their fourth studio album "All Hope Is Gone"!

It's getting loud again, it's getting hard again and it's getting damn dangerous again when Slipknot, the band that revolutionized and turned the entire metal world upside down overnight with their self-titled debut album, returns to the mosh pit!

While Iowa, a state traditionally plagued by natural disasters, and especially Des Moines, is still reporting landfall, Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor and his notorious Chaos crew calmly hammered out a new masterpiece last spring that is a real masterpiece: Together with producer Dave Fortman (Evanescence, Mudvayne, Eyehategod, Superjoint Ritual... among others) and mixing master Colin Richardson (Machine Head, Murderdolls, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine... among others), Slipknot were able to create a truly evil, black monster with 'All Hope Is Gone" at the well-tried Soundfarm Studio in Iowa, which should be considered more of a statement than a profane album, as Taylor explains.

"Every album we've made is a statement about that time period. I think this era is the most mature, the most beautiful and the strongest. We've made an album that shows the way back, the way forward and where we are as people. I think it's the best thing I've ever done. And I challenge anyone to prove me wrong!"

A fact that the loyal Maggots were able to hear for themselves at the end of June, when the title track of "All Hope Is Gone" was available for free download on the internet for a highly dramatic 24 hours, narrowly missing a massive server crash at the American internet provider!

Slipknot were able to establish themselves far beyond the boundaries of the metal scene as a force to be reckoned with, and not just because of their innovative style. As pioneers of a completely new generation of metal, the crazy nine celebrate to perfection what they do best: Crashing riffs and thundering percussions meet a mixture of brutal shouts and melodic vocals, as is once again impressively demonstrated on the tracks of 'All Hope Is Gone".

Whether Slipknot can get the audience out of their widescreen groove with the announcement 'We burn your cities down!" from the widescreen groove killer "Gematria" at the beginning of the album, throw a massive thrash club between their listeners' legs with the highly explosive "Sulphur", on the frosty-manic to nasty-raging "Gehenna", or once again go completely unexpected ways with the atmospheric goosebump ballad "Snuff" - when Corey Taylor confesses "I never claimed to be your saint", he simply seems credible. And if you take a closer look, sinners have always been the most interesting personalities. And perhaps also the most honest.

After their well-deserved creative break, Slipknot drastically tighten the hangman's knot once again in 2008 and present a modern, fresh and above all groundbreaking album with "All Hope Is Gone", which once again confirms their status as one of the most influential metal bands in the world! Masked and dangerous - the most unpredictable band in the world is back! Even if all hope is lost...
