Taking Back Sunday – Tell All Your Friends

LP, Blue Smoke Vinyl + 10", Single Sided, Etched

Taking Back Sunday is an American rock band from Long Island, New York, known for being one of the defining artists of the early 2000’s emo/underground rock scene. They have since gone on to not only dominate the genre early on in their career, but also become a massively influential rock band that adheres to no subgenre. Their gold-certified breakout debut Tell All Your Friends, released in 2002 through Chicago’s Victory Records, boasted the iconic single “Cute Without The ‘E’ (Cut From The Team),” which is still considered one of the most iconic alt. rock songs of all time. After their sophomore album Where You Want To Be, the band left Victory for their major label debut Louder Now (Warner Bros. Records) which was highly praised and climbed to the top 10 of many Billboard charts. Louder Now would also give them their hit single “MakeDamnSure” – another track that would go on to be a large part of their legacy. After making a number of personnel changes over the years, the band returned to its original lineup for 2011’s Taking Back Sunday, which made the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 chart. In 2018, they joined such iconic artists as Billy Joel, Joan Jett, and Lou Reed as inductees of the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. As of 2022, Taking Back Sunday has released seven studio albums, five live albums, and one career-spanning compilation – their most recent release Twenty – and have no signs of slowing down. Taking Back Sunday have evolved from a key player in the early 2000s emo scene to a genre-defying rock band who have three gold albums without ever ceasing to push the limitations of their sound.
