Pictures At An Exhibition" was originally released in 1971 after the band recorded the album live at Newcastle City Hall in the same year.
It is a new interpretation of the piano cycle "Pictures at an Exhibition" by Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky and the encore "Nutrocker" - a performance of Kim Vincent Fowley's rocking version of the Tin Soldiers' March from Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker". The album climbed to number three in the British album charts in 1971.
