As well as performing his own songs, rock legend Bruce Springsteen has covered numerous tracks by artists he admired - his personal heroes - throughout his career, both in full interpretations and in short excerpts. It has always been a great pleasure for fans to hear these iconic songs and melodies re-recorded by Springsteen's masterful hand.

Collected here are the original versions of the songs he covered most often with his band, offering a clear insight into Springsteen's diverse musical influences. These range from R&B, rock'n'roll, doo-wop, Elvis Presley, Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie to the Isley Brothers and the Beatles, whose "Twist and Shout" he performed at least 483 times.

This release brings together 23 original versions of his most covered songs, a true tribute to the music that influenced and shaped him.
