Jeff Beck's mentor and producer Mickie Most had the right instinct. After the break-up of the Yardbirds and three successful pop singles, he put his faith in a solid band for the guitar artist. This was formed with singer Rod Stewart, bassist Ron Wood and drummer Micky Waller.

The debut album Truth from 1968 is firmly rooted in blues rock and contains originals by Willi Dixon, Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf. However, Beck and Stewart altered tracks by B. B. King and Buddy Guy to such an extent that they could pass as their own compositions. At the same time, the album was groundbreaking for heavy metal and is considered just as influential as the first works of the Beatles, Stones or The Who.

In retrospect, it is considered a classic, regarded by many as one of the earliest examples of heavy rock and considered one of the best British blues rock albums of all time. This album was remastered by Barry Grint at Air Studios.
