E-Musikgruppe Lux Ohr feat. Ami Hassinen – Music from 'The Man Who Laughs'

This album is based on a new musical soundtrack to the silent Hollywood horror melodrama The Man Who Laughs, directed by German director Paul Leni in 1928. The soundtrack was performed live by E-Musikgruppe Lux Ohr and our guest musician Ami Hassinen at several film festivals and other screening events in Finland in 2021-2024. Some parts of the soundtrack were composed by the band members and our guest and some other parts were improvised by all of us. For this CD release, we adapted some parts of the soundtrack into new arrangements which also stand as independent instrumental tracks. The order and dynamics of this album follow the dramatic sequence of the film and its musical live soundtrack.
