It contains the sonic proof in the form of some of the best albums Peterson has recorded, including "At The Stratford Shakespearean Festival" and "At The Concertgebouw". The trio formation occupies a special place in Peterson's career. Both constellations - with bassist Ray Brown and guitarist Herb Ellis or Ray Brown and Ed Thigpen on drums - have remained unrivaled in these combinations.
In the years from 1958 onwards, further classics such as "Porgy & Bess", "Swinging Brass", or recordings of songbooks by Duke Ellington george Gershwin and Cole Porter.
